Carly

Founder & CEO

Hour Media founder, Carly Hourigan, was the Senior Producer, Strategic Communications for the Right Honourable Stephen Harper for three years. During her time at the Office of the Prime Minister, she traveled extensively across Canada and internationally, visiting 35 countries to film, produce, and edit videos that outlined the Government’s strategic narrative. She was responsible for overseeing all of the Prime Minister’s digital assets as well as producing content for his wife, Laureen Harper, and various Cabinet Ministers. Carly was the youngest woman ever to hold this role. Prior to the 2015 general election, Carly left the Prime Minister’s Office to start her own production company & creative agency. Carly holds an honours degree from McGill University in political science and Italian literature.

Matt

Director of Photography / Camera Operator

Hour Media’s Senior DOP, Matt Filice specializes in a wide range of production needs. With more than 15 years of industry experience, his method is deeply collaborative, working closely with the entire creative team to create unique imagery designed to provoke emotional response. Matt has worked with clients such as Nike, Ikea, Destination Canada, ATM, Rogers, Live Nation, VICE & INK Entertainment. Matt is a RED Camera expert and has recently completed his training on the Bolt High Speed Cinebot. Matt is an absolute perfectionist and is able to design, build and create compelling sets and scenes that make him one of the most highly sought out producers in Canada.

Ashley

Director of Video Production & Senior Editor

Ashley’s career began once she graduated from film school with a BA degree in hand. In her second and third years of studies, Ashley received two awards for best television production.  She has edited award winning music videos for artists like Jason Durulo, Black Coffee and Liquid deep; worked on pieces with Richard Branson and John Newman; as well as edited hundreds of episodes of television series Tomz.

With 10 years of video editing experience, Ashley’s career has inspired her to enjoy close working relationships with her production teams, and fostered a key passion about her line of work.

Ishmil

Photographer

Ishmil is a photographer, retoucher and art director. His photographic works have been published globally, clients include Vogue, Elle, Dressed 2 Kill, GQ, i-D and more. They have been nominated for awards, and occupy the spaces of celebrity homes as well as major institutions. Commercially he has worked as photographer or retoucher with brands such as Nobis, Gotstyle, Harry Rosen, Hudson Bay Company, Winners, Conde Nast, Bic, and more. For 4 years he has owned and managed what was rated one of the top commercial photography studios in the greater Toronto area. His time there made him an extremely skillful lighting technician and set director.

Justin

Director of Design & Development

Justin is Hour Media’s Director of Design and Development. He has a passion for design that serves as the driving force behind all his creative endeavours. This passion fuels Justin’s knack for eye-catching, practical video and website development. His obsession with artfully integrating functionality and modern design contributed to his exemplary work on creative projects with organizations such as TD Bank, KPMG, Export Development Canada and Algonquin College. Justin’s tempered desire to always achieve the best outcomes from his work makes him a reliable and exceptional design and development leader.

Jennifer

Manager, Social Content & Client Relations

Jennifer Knobbs is a London 2012 Olympian in Synchronized Swimming. After retiring, Jennifer pursued a new career and graduated with honours and the Academic Award of Excellence in Sport Management from Humber College. Throughout her career, she has gained expertise in communications, marketing, events and project management. Her creative, outside of the box mindset has led to a passion for designing and developing social media content. Jennifer’s determination and enthusiasm makes her a great leader. The energy she brings on a daily basis, motivates those around her to achieve goals and continuously reach new levels.
